I’m a wedding and portrait photographer working from my home on the edge of the Cambridgeshire / Northamptonshire border.

When I first took photographs at my friends weddings I wanted to capture spontaneous moments that meant something more than a photo posed just for the camera. As a guest, I used the discrete 35mm camera unlike my comtemporaries of the time who used the larger medium format cameras. Working quietly from the sidelines I was searching for Henri Cartier Bresson’s “Decisive Moments” that tell the story naturally as events unfold.

As I began photographing more weddings I honed my skills for capturing these fleeting moments along with the many other disciplines that wedding photography entails. In the early days, the expense of old-fashioned film taught me to think carefully about the image I was capturing before pressing the shutter. It also taught me that discretion and timing were everything, as they still are in my wedding photography today.

My photography business was established and continues to thrive on word-of-mouth recommendations. This has led me in to other areas of freelance photography including Family and Corporate Portraiture, Public Relations Photography and a separate business dedicated to Modern Nursery Photography.

Prior to this, I have a formal education in photography and have previously worked as Assistant to an Advertising Photographer in London, a Senior in-house Corporate Photographer in the Automotive Industry and in-house Photographer at Kettle’s Yard and the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge.
